dc.description	The thesisis devoted to the administrative and economic activity of General I. Khorvat in New Serbia in the second half ofthe 18th century. It comprehensively reveals military-administrative and socio-economic aspects of General’s activity in this region.The contribution of I. Khorvat to the development of the New Serbia was examined in a new way on the basis of engaged unpublished documents. The state of scientificdevelopment of this issue and the source base were analyzed in the thesis.The specialty of the researching of this topic in historiography is its review by majority of Ukrainian and foreignresearchers in the general context of the history of colonization of Ukrainian steppe terrains by foreign colonists in the 18th century.The source base of this problem consists of archival and published documents, memoirs and other materials. The study uses documents from the funds of the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Manuscript Institute of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, the State Archives of Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts and other institutions.The process of resettlement of I. Khorvat to Ukrainian lands from the beginning of the organization of the Serbian Grenzers’ migration from the territory of the Austrian Empiretill formation ofNew Serbia wasalso tracked. The features of administrative and military activityof I.Khorvat as a commander of the Hussar Regiment and the New SerbianMilitaryCorps as well as his powers were found out. The relationship betweenthe administration of New Serbia headed by General with the population of neighboring territories, such as Zaporozhian Cossacks and Poles, was exploredin the thesis. This thesis defines the influence of I. Khorvat on the development of social, trade, economic and land relations in New Serbiaas well as his intercource with subordinate soldiers and locals. The correlation between General’s activities in the financial sphere and the dissatisfaction with his policy by the local people was revealed. The analysis ofthematerial status and private property of I. Khorvat was conducted. The contribution of I. Khorvat to the church and educational policyin the region, in particular, the influence on the arrangement of the settlers’spiritual life wereset up. The relations of General with Russian and Serbian Orthodox clergy and the involvement of them to New Serbia as priests andteachers are also analyzed. Itwas ascertained that I. Khorvat paid special attention to the organization of the church system, in particular, put forward proposals on the providing of priests to the lands and material provision. The features of I. Khorvat’s litigation and the last years of hislife were also higlighted in the thesis.The conditions of investigation of a criminal case against General have been determined, the course of investigation has been traced and the reasons for the prolongation of investigative actions have been also established. Thelink between I.Khorvat’s abuses and the liquidation of New Serbia and the creation of Novorossiya Governorate on its former lands was explored. The life of retired General in exile to Vologda region and after his return from there to Slobozhanshchyna is also monitored.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	Дисертація присвячена діяльності генерала І. Хорвата в Новій Сербії у другій половині XVIII ст. У роботі комплексно розкрито як військово-адміністративні, так і суспільно-господарські аспекти діяльності генерала на території краю. Проаналізовано стан наукової розробки проблеми та джерельну базу дослідження. Відстежено процес переселення І. Хорвата на українські землі від початку його організації до створення Нової Сербії. З нових позицій досліджено внесок генерала у розвиток Нової Сербії на основі залучення до наукового обігу масиву неопублікованих документів. З’ясовано особливості адміністративної та військової діяльності І. Хорвата як командувача Гусарського полку й Новосербського військового корпусу, а також визначено його повноваження. Досліджено відносини адміністрації Нової Сербії на чолі з генераломз населенням сусідніх територій. Визначеновплив І. Хорвата на розвиток соціальних, торговельно-економічних та земельних відносин у Новій Сербії, а також його стосунки з підлеглим військовим іцивільним населенням. Встановлено внесок генералау церковну й освітню політику на території краю. Здійснено аналіз майнового становища та приватної власності І. Хорвата. Розкрито особливості перебігу судової справи генерала та висвітлено останні роки його життя.	uk_UA
