dc.description	The thesis is a comprehensive study of the stylistic evolution of the classical costume forms, which are transforming in time, successfully exist today in the form of so-called traditional classics, while maintaining stability of the main features, as well as in the variants of form synthesis or individual elements with other styles and sub-genres of fashion. The aim of the study was to identify the stages of origin, development and transformation of forms of classical costume as artistic phenomenon and applied art as well as to analyze its artistic and stylistic features, in particular the composition and texture-materaal solutions, color, decor. Tne object of the study is the classic costume (male, female) in the history and practice of applied art of the XIX - beginning of the XXI century; subject of study - the evolution of forms and artistic-style peculiarities of the classic costume. For the first time in Ukrainian art historian, the forms-prototype of object in men's and women's clothing of the XVII-XVIII сentury were tracked sequentially, using the broad volume of illustrative material, establishment of its structure in the English tradition in the XIX century, development and transformation of the forms of classical costume in the XX - beginning of the XXI century in the creative works of British, French, Italian, Ukrainian designers. While working of the research the author rests upon the aesthetic classical conceps in the works of scholars of antiquity and the Renaissanse, the period of classicism, approaches of contemporary art critics, historians and fashion practitioners. This paper analyzes the historical costume collections of the word's leading museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of London (London, UK), Manchester City Galleries (Manchester, UK), Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York City, USA), John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum (Boston, USA), The Kyoto Costume Institute (Kyoto, Japan), and other. Сentral place in the study takes English suit. The structure of English costume - sustainable ratio of proportions, design, line silhouette, the material and restrained decor - for nearly two centuraes is the same, and that is why, this established style got the name "classic".	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	Дисертація є комплексним дослідженням стильової еволюції форм класичного костюма, які, трансформуючись у часі, існують сьогодні у вигляді так званої традиційної класики, зберігаючи сталість основних ознак, а також у варіантах синтезу форми або окремих її елементів з іншими стилями і підстилями моди. Вперше в українському мистецтвознавстві послідовно простежено форми-прототипи об'єкта дослідження в чоловічому і жіночому вбранні XVII-XVIII ст., визначено етапи становлення його структури в англійській традиції у ХІХ ст, розвиток і трансформацію форм класичного костюма у ХХ - на початку ХХІ ст. у творчості британських, французьких, італійських, українських дизайнерів. Аналіз сучасних тенденцій полістилізму з акцентом на класичні форми слугує основою для визначення міжкультурних модних паралелей у сучасній практиці моделювання класичного костюма.	uk_UA
