dc.description	The thesis is a study of Edgard Varèse's creativity in the aspect of the interaction of traditional and creative. The work analyzes the historical context of the formation of the composer’s creative method. The application of the concept of “cultural memory” to the study of tradition in music was argued, and the introduction of the concept of “creative” for the study of innovative phenomena was substantiated. In this regard, the musicological approaches to studying the problem of traditional and creative, taking into account the musical context of the twentieth century, are systematized and developed. It has been found out that this problem is considered in musicology as a dialectical interaction of "tradition" and "innovation" ("traditional" and "innovative"), as well as with the concept of "artistic canon" and "canonical" in art. The study of the creativity of E. Varèse requires modernization of approaches and taking into account its specifics. In this connection, the concept of "cultural memory" is involved and the concept "creative" is applied. The patterns of composer's thinking and the typical features of an individual style on the example of his individual works are revealed. Instrumental compositions by E. Varèse, such as "Octandre", "Hyperprism", "Ionisation", "Intégrales", and also the early work "Un grand sommeil noir" on the words of P. Verlaine for voice and piano, became the material for analysis. The works reveal traditional elements with the help of established methods of musicological analysis and the use of the concept of cultural memory. It is determined that the traditional remains in the works of E. Varése at the level of structure and traces in the "memory of the musical form". It is revealed that the specificity of E. Varèse's relation to tradition determines that his creative activity belongs to the time of change of aesthetic and ideological paradigms in art, "cultural explosion" (Yu. Lotman). Creativity of the composer is, on the one hand, fundamentally creative and innovative in its direction, and on the other hand, retains enough normative elements and hidden links with tradition. Formulated creative features of the composer's work, connected with the implementation of his idea of "liberation of sound" and the concept of "spatial music". It was discovered that these ideas appeared in the music of E. Varèse primarily in the growth of the role of the timbre in the musical organization and the use of the intensity parameter. The work formulates the value of creative achievements of E. Varèse for the development of music of the twentieth century and defines the specifics of his creativity in this context.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	Дисертація є дослідженням творчості Едгара Вареза в аспекті взаємодії традиційного та креативного. У роботі проаналізовано історичний контекст формування творчого методу композитора. Аргументовано застосування концепції «культурної пам’яті» до вивчення традиційного в музиці та обґрунтовано введення поняття «креативне» для дослідження новаційних явищ. У зв’язку з цим систематизовано та розвинуто музикознавчі підходи до вивчення проблеми традиційного та креативного, враховуючи музичний контекст ХХ століття. Визначено закономірності мислення Е. Вареза та типові риси індивідуального композиторського стилю на прикладі окремих його творів. В результаті аналізу за допомогою усталених музикознавчих методів та концепції культурної пам’яті в них виявлено традиційні елементи. Сформульовані креативні риси творчості композитора, пов’язані з реалізацією його ідеї «звільнення звуку» та концепції «просторової музики». Визначено специфіку поєднання у творчому методі композитора традиційного та креативного.	uk_UA
