dc.description	An analysis of the complex of the monastic libraries inventories from XVIII century as sources to was conducted in the thesis. These are the necessary sources which facilitate understanding of the history of libraries of Catholic Metropolitanate of Lviv in the XIV-XVIII centuries. Fourteen inventories preserved in the funds of the Scientific Library of Lviv Ivan Franko National University which provide a possibility to explore old monastic libraries on the territories of Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv and Catholic Diocese of Przemyśl. Twelve of them are the library inventories, one - a journal of books taken by the readers, and one - the inventory from the library of Lviv University from the beginning of the XIX century. The source value of inventories as a key to reproduce quantitative and thematic content of monastic libraries is determined in the thesis. The peculiarities of library inventories formation and methods of book records are researched as well as the methods to identify these books on the basis of the inventories entries. Reconstruction of thematic content of twelve libraries is carried out on the ground of handwritten inventories. These libraries were located within the territories of Catholic Metropolitanate of Lviv: Bernardines (Lviv, Rzeszów, Leżajsk, Przeworsk), Jesuits (Przemyśl, Sambir), Dominicans (Jarosław), Carmelites (Drohobych), Franciscans Reformed (Rzeszów), Trinitarians (Stanyslaviv), and the monks from the Order of the Holy Sepulchre (Leżajsk). The researcher managed to partially restore the names of the people who worked in the libraries in the XVIII century. The names of the library users who borrowed books from the Bernardine monastic library in Lviv were also identified due to the journal of borrowed books. Moreover, it was possible to reconstruct their reading interests. As based on the materials of the inventory from Lviv University llibrary from the beginning of the XIX century, the place of monastic literature in the structure of the library after the secularization reforms of the Austrian authority was identified. The research also determines features which influenced the organization and development of monastic libraries, such as the position of the monastery in the region, whether there were parishes, beneficial institutions, educational institutions, and whether there was a financial support of the monastery and charitable donations; fires and military actions. In this thesis, the researcher studied the inventories of the Catholic monasteries as sources to the history of intellectual culture of Catholic monks on Ukrainian territories, the history of libraries in general which were the centers of culture and an overall history of books and reading.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	У дисертації здійснено аналіз комплексу інвентарів бібліотек XVIII ст. як джерел до історії книгозбірень монастирів Львівської латинської митрополії XIV-XVIII ст. з фондів Наукової бібліотеки Львівського національного університету імені Івана Франка. Визначено джерельну цінність інвентарів, виявлено особливості укладення, а також способи запису книг до облікових документів. Здійснено реконструкцію кількісного та тематичного складу давніх монастирських бібліотек. Встановлено персональний склад працівників бібліотек, а також відтворено їхній читацький склад та коло читацьких інтересів користувачів книгозбірень. Виділено чинники, що впливали на формування та розвиток монастирських бібліотек. Простежено долю бібліотек монастирів Львівської латинської митрополії, що були ліквідовані або реформовані у кінці XVIII ст.	uk_UA
